Zine on being watched

2023

Paranoia explores the fear of being observed and perceived without wanting to. The project was inspired by my experience of living on the ground floor, where people passing close to the windows of my workspace created a persistent sense of exposure and anxiety.

The window became the common denominator between spreads, represented as a set of eyes that escape from the mind into the actual inanimate object. The narrative gradually shifts from fear and resistance towards the acceptance of being watched, culminating in the resident opening the window and allowing the observers to enter.

When unfolded, the zine transforms into a poster featuring one of its illustrations, extending the narrative beyond the publication format.
